Man sentenced in Cincinnati pastor death

COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A northern Kentucky judge has sentenced a man to 30 years for the shooting death of a Cincinnati pastor and wounding of a church deacon as they arrived for a funeral last year.

Kenton County Circuit Judge Martin Sheehan ordered Frederick Davis of Covington to serve 20 years for first-degree manslaughter and 10 years for first-degree attempted manslaughter.

The 41-year-old Davis will be eligible for parole in 19 years.

Davis was convicted in the death of Fairbanks, who was pastor of New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, and wounding of deacon Dowdell Cobb.
