UPDATE: Man arrested for killing father over card game

GREENSBURG, IN (FOX19) - Police in Greensburg, Ind. have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting his father.

Police say James D. Imel Jr., 30, of Greensburg, shot and killed his father, James D. Imel Sr., 54, after the pair had an argument over a card game.

The shooting happened Sunday evening just after 8 p.m. in the 600 block of West Ninth Street, in a residence owned by Boin Cain. Police say Imel Sr. was living at the home, as well.

Cain called police after he heard a gun shot and found Imel Sr. laying on the kitchen floor, bleeding. Cain told police he did not see the confrontation, but saw Imel Jr. running from the residence.

Imel Jr. was found Monday morning and taken to court, where he pled not guilty. His trial date was set for April 29. If convicted, he faces between 45 and 65 years in prison.
