ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - An Anderson Township fire truck and a pedestrian were involved in an accident Monday morning.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Five Mile Road.

Police say a Honda and the fire truck were traveling southbound approaching the intersection of Woodcroft Drive. The truck was responding to an emergency call and being driven by Jeff Durr, 31, of Cincinnati.

Durr was attempting to make a right turn onto Woodcroft Drive when the driver of the Honda, Jody Schul, 24, of Cincinnati, failed to yield to the fire truck and swerved to the right in an attempt not to hit it. Schul then lost control of her vehicle, causing it to travel off the road and strike a utility pole. The pole then hit a pedestrian, Kristin Flynn, 25, of Cincinnati, who was standing at the Metro bus stop.

The front portion of Schul's vehicle struck the utility pole, breaking it into two pieces, knocking it to the ground, along with the attached overhead wires. The wires then struck the rear portion of the fire truck and another vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign on Woodcroft Drive.

Flynn was taken to Anderson Mercy Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries. Schul was also taken to Anderson Mercy Hospital, where she was treated and released. Schul was also cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
