CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man was rescued from the frigid waters of the Ohio River Tuesday after his car rolled off the Anderson Ferry.
The driver told ferry workers that the brakes on his car failed, causing the car to roll into the river.
Donald Phelps, a crewmember on the ferry helped rescue the man by throwing out two different life rings. Phelps said the man was in the water for about three minutes.
The car has not yet been recovered. It floated down the river several feet.
The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Phelps said he has been working on the ferry for 19 years and never experienced a situation like this.
The Coast Guard is now investigating.
