CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Five apartments were destroyed by a fire that broke out at the North Creek Apartment Complex in North College Hill.

Firefighters say 17 other apartments suffered smoke damage by the time the flames were under control around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.

They were first called to scene at 12:25 a.m.

Crews got everyone out of the building safely, but several families were unable to return to their apartments.

Many gathered in a nearby Burger King to stay warm throughout the night.

Investigators have not determined what caused the fire, but they have pinpointed where it started.
