House fire in Sycamore Twp.

Posted by Amber Jenkins - email

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -- A fire leaves one woman looking for a place to live Sunday morning.

A short time before 9:00am, fire crews were called because of smoke being seen near Interstate 71. Crews found a home at the 6200 block of Euclid Avenue fully engulfed in flames.

A second alarm was issued and more firefighters were dispatched. The fire was extinguished within a couple of hours.

Metro buses were also sent to the scene so that fire crews could alternate and stay warm while battling the blaze.

No one was hurt, but a cat had an injured leg.

Fire investigators believe that cause of the fire was unattended portable electric heaters.

The home is a total loss and Red Cross is assisting the victim.
