BLANCHESTER, OH (FOX19) -- The Ohio State Fire Marshal says that the fire that killed a woman in a retirement home was accidental.
Authorities say that the fire at the Friendship Acres retirement home originated in a first-floor apartment near a medical bed. Careless smoking and a heating pad could not be ruled out as possible causes for the fire.
The has been on death confirmed. So far officials have not identified the victim.
A total of 100 residents were evacuated for the retirement home. The facility was equipped with smoke detectors which did activate and alert the other occupants.

Firefighters were called to Friendship Acres at the 900 block of Cherry Street. Authorities say that the fire originated and was contained to a first- floor apartment.
The State Marshal has confirmed that one person has died. The name of the victim has not been released, but officials say that the victim is a female believed to be in her late 60s
Approximately 100 residents were evacuated and moved to the Blanchester Municipal building.
There are reports of smoke damage in complex.
The Division of the State Marshal is investigating the incident.
