BATAVIA (FOX 19) - Nearly starved to death, but everyday doing better. That is how the surviving animals rescued from a farm in Bethel are described.

The Clermont County Communications Department released the first video images of the four horses, donkey and miniature horse that investigators believe 39 year-old Chad Moore abused and neglected.

County communications director Kathy Lehr described what it was like to see the animals first-hand.

"These are beautiful animals and it really is an emotional experience to go see them face to face so to speak and we've heard so much about the animal cruelty and abandonment charges and these animals are so malnourished its amazing how loving they still are after everything they've been through," Lehr said.

Donations are needed to help care for the animals that are now in the county's custody.

You can help by contacting the Clermont County Animal Shelter at (513) 732-8854.
