UPDATE: Police identify suspect who posed as trooper

UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police in Union Township have identified a suspect they say posed as an Ohio State Trooper and forced another man to stop his car.

Police say the suspect approached the other driver Monday night in the area of SR 125 and the off ramp of southbound Interstate 275 and displayed an unknown type of identification card and stated he was a State Trooper. When the other driver asked the suspect to show his badge, the suspect implied he had a gun. When he could not produce a badge, the driver of the stopped vehicle fled the scene.

Police received a tip from another person who said a similar situation happened to him.

After further investigation, police have named Charles Moeller as a suspect. Warrants have been issued for aggravated robbery and impersonating a police officer.

Charles Moeller is currently at large. He is believed to be operating a 2004 blue Jeep Liberty with and Ohio license plate of number of 421 YCA. His last known address is Milford, Ohio. If anyone knows his whereabouts or has additional information about this case please contact the Union Township Police Department 513-752-1230.
