MARNE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a handcuffed prisoner they consider dangerous escaped in central Ohio when the sheriff's deputy who was transporting him stopped for gas. Law enforcement officials looking for 25-year-old Joshua Homan in Licking County are urging residents to keep their doors locked until he's apprehended.
Area schools plan to open two hours late on Friday and are stepping up security. Police say Homan had been arrested in Las Vegas and was being brought back to eastern Ohio's Tuscarawas County, where he's wanted on charges including abduction, domestic violence and intimidation of a witness.
Authorities say he got away from the Tuscarawas County deputy around 10 p.m. Thursday at a service station east of Newark.
