Prisoner caught after escaping from Ohio deputy

MARNE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say they've captured a prisoner

who escaped in handcuffs while being transported through central

Newark police say 25-year-old Joshua Homan was caught shortly

after 7 a.m. Friday following an overnight manhunt in Licking

County, east of Columbus. He was taken to a hospital after being

outside wearing just a T-shirt and jeans in temperatures that

dipped into the single digits.

Police said Homan got away at a gas station Thursday night when

a sheriff's deputy stopped while taking him back to eastern Ohio's

Tuscarawas County. Authorities said Homan was

wanted there on charges including abduction, domestic violence and

intimidation of a witness. They had warned residents that they

considered him dangerous.
