CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Public Schools is holding a construction workshop for minority contractors and workers interested in providing services for the remaining projects in the district's facilities master plan.
The workshop is Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. at Integrity Hall at 2081 Seymour Ave. in Bond Hill.
The purpose of the workshop is to connect minority workers to CPS' contractors hired to complete upcoming construction projects. In addition, officials will provide information to minority contractors about how to win bids from the district, as well as information to people interested in getting into various construction fields without prior experience or training.
Anyone interested in applying for a construction job should attend.
CPS has been under recent fire for not hiring enough minority contractors for building projects. School officials say $9 million the district paid to a white-owned construction company was mistakenly counted as a minority contract.
