BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - With three weeks to go until the filing deadline for the May primary, mud-slinging has started in Clermont county.
At the center is two-term incumbent county commissioner Scott Croswell. After the county republican party chooses not to endorse him as a candidate.
That is a question many have asked.
Croswell says its because his views are more conservative than the leaders of the party.
He also says in a contested election, he has never had their endorsement and doesn't mind.
"I believe that the citizens of Clermont county know my record for the past seven years and will not permit a few other elected officials to distort my record," Croswell says.
Attempts were made to contact the Clermont County Republican Party, but no phone calls were returned.
