LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -- A Cincinnati man faces charges after he tried to bring drugs into a correctional institute for a family member.
On Wednesday, The Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers charged 26-year-old Timothy Eli with attempting to convey drugs in to the Warren Correction Institute and possession of criminal tools.
Troopers and the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Investigators received information that Eli would be bringing in drugs to his brother, an inmate at the institute, during a scheduled visit. After being confronted by officials, Timothy Eli voluntarily surrendered six small baggies of marijuana. The bags were concealed in his left sock and weighed about five grams.
Eli is currently being held at the Warren County Jail. He could face up to 7 years in prison and a $15,000 fine if convicted.
