NORTHSIDE, OH (FOX19) - Fire crews worked overnight to battle a two-alarm fire in Northside.
Flames broke out in the 1800 block of West Fork Road just after 1 a.m.
Initial arriving fire units discovered a 2-story with an attic private dwelling with heavy fire showing from several floors. All occupants were reported out the home, but several dogs had to be rescued from the structure. Due to the location of the home, which sat about 100 yards up on a steep driveway, a second alarm was called for additional resources.
Firefighters were hampered by the location of the home, weather conditions and water main pressures. The fire consumed the entire structure and was brought under control within an hour.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but could be electrical in nature. Damage is estimated at $80,000.
One occupant refused to be medically evaluated. No firefighters were injured. Four adults and a child are being assisted by the Red Cross.
