BATAVIA (FOX19) -- Thursday was the last day to file for office for the May primaries.

Current Clermont county commissioner Scott Croswell didn't file to run.

Croswell has spent seven years on the county commission. The republican was not being backed by the county's republican committee.

Instead, county party chairman, Tim Rudd, says that they will support Batavia Township trustees, Archie Wilson.

Croswell can still file to run in the November election as an independent candidate.

That filing deadline is in May.
