DELAWARE, IN (FOX19) - A teenager was taken to jail after police said he was driving drunk, causing a crash in Ripley County.

It happened on SR 129 just south of SR 350 just before 7:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Police say Timothy Moore, 19, of Osgood, was driving his Chevy Lumina northbound on SR 129 when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a southbound semi truck driven by Lee Pennington, 60, of Shelbyville. After colliding with the semi, the Lumina then spun in the roadway and was struck by a southbound Chrysler van driven by Julia Heidlage, 41, of Batesville.

Moore suffered a minor cut on his hand and was treated at the scene by EMT's. Pennington was not injured and Heidlage complained of some minor pain in her shoulder but was not transported to a treatment facility.

Troopers suspected Moore to be intoxicated and he was later transported to the Ripley County Jail for a breath test, where the result indicated Moore's BAC to be in excess of the .08 legal limit. Moore is now being held in the Ripley County Jail, charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Minor Consuming Alcoholic Beverage, and Driving Left of Center.
