UPDATE: Man wanted for shooting an off-duty police officer

NORTH COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) -- Police have identified the man who they say shot and injured an off- duty Cincinnati Police Officer on Friday.

Officials have a warrant signed for 37-year-old Keenan Childs. He is charged with Felonious assault for the shooting of Police Officer Thomas Owens at Tom's Drive Thru Friday night.

Officer Owens was transported to University Hospital after he was shot in the abdomen.

Childs is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of Keenan Childs is asked to call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.

 


 

North College Hill, OH (FOX19) -- Police are searching for a man who they say shot an off-duty  Cincinnati police officer Friday evening.

A short time after 9:00pm, North College Hill Police were called to Tom's Drive- Thru, located at the 1900 block of West Galbraith Road.

According to Cincinnati Police Tom Streicher, words were exchanged between Officer Tom Owens and another person. That person then shot Officer Owens in the abdomen. He was transported to University Hospital. There is no word on his condition.

Owens is a School Resource Officer for the Cincinnati Police Department.

Cincinnati and North College Hill Police are talking to witnesses and looking at surveillance video to get information about the incident.

Officials have released a picture of the suspect who they say shot Officer Owens. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to cal Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
