Highway worker hit by vehicle on 71/75

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Traffic is flowing again on Interstate 71/75 in Northern Kentucky. Around 11:00 a.m. this morning highway worker was struck near the I-275 exit.

Aircare was originally called to the scene but emergency workers on the scene decided to go ahead and transport him by ground ambulance.


On March 1, 2010 at 10:40 am the Erlanger Dispatch Center was notified of a

pedestrian struck on the north bound I 75 ramp to west bound I 275.

A construction trailer with a caution arrow was being placed on the left side off

the road way when a vehicle struck the rear of the trailer. The trailer then struck

a construction worker standing next to the trailer.

The operator of the striking vehicle then struck another vehicle on the ramp.

The construction worker: Randall Manley 62 years of age from Carlisle, KY was

transported to an area hospital by Erlanger Life Squad with non-life threatening


The operator of the striking vehicle Kevin Baker, 39 years of age from Florence,

KY was not injured.

The crash is being investigated by the Erlanger Police Department.

No other injuries were reported.
