CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Dozens of people gathered in Avondale Monday evening for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of a 22-year-old Jason Wynn.
The candlelight vigil was held in the driveway of Phillip Memorial Methodist Church on Forest Avenue in Avondale. It was the very spot where Wynn was beaten, robbed and shot to death after leaving a store four years ago.
Police to date have made no arrest in his murder.
Terry Jones, Jason's father, was among dozens rallying the community to stop this type of senseless violence while Jason's three young children carried a picture of their dad.
"He was walking down the street on Forest Avenue when three guys were waiting for him they robbed him of whatever Jason had and shot him and shot him anyway," said Terry Jones.
Other residents who have had loved ones taken from them say they want an end to the gun violence that is claiming the lives of far too many innocent people.
