HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A large train derailment had blocked several intersections in Hamilton early Wednesday morning.
The derailment happened just around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Walnut and Martin Luther King Drive.
A southbound CSX train with over 150 cars derailed, sending 4 empty cars off the tracks. CSX had personnel on scene working to clear the crossings and had them blocked for most of the morning.
The following railroad crossings were closed: Walnut Street., Hanover Street., Front Street, 2nd Street, 3rd Street, 4th Street and some of 127.
Police say the Walnut Street intersection is still closed. All of the other intersections have opened by 3:00pm.
Investigators say there are no hazardous chemicals or materials involved in this derailment, and no injuries have been reported. Part of the track and a railroad sign were damaged.
