CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Charges could be upgraded against a man accused of assaulting a 17-month-old baby.
Police say Derrick Pitts, 27, shook a toddler in his care so badly that the baby suffered critical injuries and later died at Children's Hospital.
For now, Pitts is facing a felonious assault charge that will likely be upgraded to murder.
His bond was set at $750,000 during his arraignment on Tuesday.

Police charged the suspected gunman, who killed one and shot six at a Tennessee church Sunday, with one count of murder and said multiple charges were pending.
Prosecutors say Weiner broke the law by having illicit contact with a 15-year-old girl, including asking her to "sexually perform" for him in conversations on Skype and Snapchat.
The suspect said he wanted “advice on missing paychecks and how to get the chip out of my head.”
