Appliance rebate program begins this week

Posted by Trina Edwards - email

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Ohioans are getting ready to take part in a program that will offer rebates for Energy Star appliances by turning in old appliances.

The program begins at 8 a.m. Friday, March 26. Rebates ranging from $100 to $250 are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the purchase of select, qualified Energy Star appliances at Ohio retail locations.

New appliances must be purchased within three days of reserving the rebate, and old appliances must be recycled so they are rendered inoperable. Online purchases do not qualify for a rebate.

Officials say rebate funds may run out before the program is scheduled to end. Those who apply for the rebate are not guaranteed to receive it during the program period.
