Jonathan Fishbaum, 21 years old usmc born in Manhattan NY & raised in Brooklyn NY to say I'm proud of my son is an understatement. It was not long ago, like most teenagers Jonathan was a broker in the stock market prior to 9/11. He was going through the trails and tribulation of trying to figure out what to do with his life. Then one sunny morning in September our country was under attack. This had a profound effect on my son. It was not long after that he came to me said: "ma, i figured out what i want to do with my life. I want to join the marines." I was shocked. I said "What!!! the marines are you crazy?" His response was....no, ma, crazy. After what happened to our country on 9/11. I can't think of a better way to say Thank you, and do something good with my life. You must understand our family is from Israel and Jonathan's all too figural with the horror of war and terrorism. Being raised in the United States has giving my son a safe secure life, with the freedom to make his dreams come true, unlike his some of his family and others over seas. For my son to appreciate that at such a young age and what to repay his country makes me so very, very proud of him, and all the others young men and woman in this country.
Thank you all for your bravery and courage! Jonathan, you turned in a fine young, brave gentleman. I'm proud to call you my son. I love you, I miss you, please come home safe my prayers are with you all.
