MADISON, IN (FOX19) - An Indiana man was sentenced to 160 years behind bars for murdering two people and attempting to kill another.

Jack Edwards Jr. was convicted earlier this month in Jefferson County, Ind. on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Edwards, 37, beat Cindy Mauntel and Ranear Kirksey to death on August 25, 2008 in Madison. He also beat David Summerlin, but he survived.

Edwards attacked all three victims with a large landscaping timber, striking all victims in the head.  Kirksey and Mauntel each received multiple blows to the head and died of that blunt force trauma.  Summerlin was struck in the head and suffered head trauma.
