FORT WRIGHT, KY (FOX19) - A Campbell County man is behind bars after a bank robbery and chase.
Police say Bobby L. Applegate Jr., 28, of Newport, walked into the U.S. Bank on Dixie Highway in Fort Wright on Monday and handed the teller a note demanding money.
He then fled on foot toward the Dollar Tree store in Fort Wright Plaza. An attempt to locate was broadcast to police and a pursuit started in Cincinnati and ended in Newport.
The suspect was apprehended by the Newport Police Department. The vehicle used in the robbery was recovered and found to be stolen from Erlanger. Cash stolen from the bank was also recovered.
Applegate Jr. faces charges of robbery, wanton endangerment and theft by unlawful taking. He also faces one count of terroristic threatening for calling in a threat to Notre Dame High School at the time of the robbery.
Applegate Jr. was taken to the Kenton County Detention Center.
