HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton Police have arrested a suspect accused of two aggravated robberies that happened just minutes apart Tuesday.
Bryan Trauthwein, 29, was arrested around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of F Street. He is charged with five counts of aggravated robbery.
Officers responded to the Condor Insurance Agency at 935 Main Street just before 10 a.m. on a report that suspect came into the business with a silver handgun and demanded money. The employees complied with the demand and the suspect fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash.
Ten minutes later, a suspect matching the same description entered Hamilton Smoke & Beverage at 946 High Street. The suspect displayed a silver handgun and demanded cash from the register. During the robbery, the suspect shot the clerk, Rajendrakuma Shah, 54, in the arm. The suspect fled the scene and the clerk was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hamilton detectives also believe Trauthwein is responsible for two other robberies that have occurred over the last three days. On Sunday, Richards Pizza at 417 Main Street was robbed, and the following day, Domino's Pizza at 1440 Haldimand Avenue was also robbed.
The fifth count of aggravated stems from Trauthwein's arrest, when he attempted to take the arresting officer's gun.
