Life guards save boy from drowning

ST. BERNARD, OH (FOX19) - A child was taken to Children's Hospital after a near drowning Wednesday evening.

The incident happened at St. Bernard High School on Tower Avenue a short time after 8:30 p.m. Officials say that a 12 year-old boy was found at the bottom of the pool by two adults who were in the pool.

There were two juvenile lifeguards on duty at the time of the incident. Authorities estimate the boy was under water for approximately 60 seconds.

CPR was immediately performed by one of the lifeguards and an adult at the pool until paramedics responded. They were able to revive the victim and transport him to Children's Hospital.

He is listed in critical but stable condition in Children's Hospital Intensive Care Unit.

The incident is currently being investigated.
