WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A former NBA player had been found guilty of breaking into a home in Deerfield Township and assaulting a couple.

A Warren County jury found Kirk Snyder guilty of aggravated burglary, felonious assault and assault on Thursday.

Officials say that Snyder broke into the home of his neighbor, brutally attacked a man living there and shoved the man's wife.

He will be sentenced later this month.

The defense never denied that the events happened, but claimed Snyder was not guilty by reason of insanity. Prosecutors say Snyder may have had serious mental conditions, but knew what he was doing.

Kirk Snyder was a basketball star for the University of Nevada and was the first round pick of the Utah Jazz in 2004.
