Cincinnati proposes new bike lanes, trails

by Roger Seay - email

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - City developers are planning a network of bike trails and lanes around Cincinnati and are seeing public input.

The plan released this week includes over 130 miles of bicycle lanes and 100 miles of shared lanes.  It also includes 23 miles of the Ohio River Trail, a downtown connector to the Little Miami Trail, and the 3 mile Queen City - South Mill Creek Greenway Trail.

Comments can be made by visiting the city's website.

There will be an open house on May 5, 2010, at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center at 3711 Clifton Avenue. Where you can learn more about the draft plan, fill out a comment card or speak with a member of the project team.

Just this week a listing of the 50 friendliest cycling cities in the United States included Cleveland, Columbus, Louisville, Lexington, and Indianapolis was published by Bicycling Magazine.  Cincinnati was not in the list.

The Plan will be completed in summer 2010.
