CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Jury selection begins Friday in the trial of a man accused of murdering three people in Over the Rhine.
Mark Pickens is accused of the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Noelle Washington, 19, her son Anthony Jones, 9 months, and a little girl she was babysitting, Sharailyn Wright, 3.
The murder occurred last June in Washington's apartment.
It's expected the jury will hear a jailhouse confession Pickens allegedly made to another inmate at the Hamilton Count Justice Center. Prosecutors say he told a fellow inmate that he shot Washington in the back of the head, as well as shooting and killing the two children.
Pickens was charged with shooting Washington's boyfriend in March, and court documents show Washington had accused him of rape just one day before she was killed.
Detectives have said the motive of this triple shooting was to keep Washington quiet about rape charges.
Pickens was indicted on one count of rape, three counts of aggravated murder and two counts of having weapons under disability. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
