AURORA, IN (FOX19) - Indiana State Police have filed four more charges against a former Aurora police officer who's accused of child solicitation.
Dennis Lewis, 52, was arrested last week after police found he was having inappropriate Internet chats with who he thought was a teenage girl. Instead, he was talking to an undercover officer in Ohio.
Police filed four additional charges against Lewis on Monday after it was discovered he had Internet chats with undercover officers on four additional occasions.
The four conversations are the result of an undercover Internet sting operation from a different law enforcement agency in Ohio other than the conversation resulting in the original charge.
Police say Lewis entered an explicit conversation on Dec. 20, 2009, two separate conversations on Dec. 27, 2009 and on other conversation on Jan. 2, 2010. Investigators also say Lewis attempted to make contact with the same undercover officer on several occasions since the Jan. 2 incident, with attempted contact being made as recently as April 5, 2010.
Lewis now faces five counts of child solicitation. He continues to be held in the Switzerland County Jail.
