Police investigate several shootings overnight

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -  Local police agencies had their hands full overnight after several shootings were reported.

In Mount Airy, police say a man was shot at least twice just after midnight.

It happened in the 2700 block of Hillvista at the Little Flower Apartments. The victim is suffering from life-threatening injuries, but that person's name and condition has not been released. There is no word on any suspects.

Just minutes earlier, a would-be thief was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police say the robber ran into someone with a concealed-carry permit, and at some point the would-be victim was able to get his gun out and shoot the suspect, who took off running from the shooting scene on Rosemont Avenue south of Glenway in West Price Hill.

He dropped the permit-holder's cellular phone somewhere on a six block run to West Liberty Street just west of Manss Avenue.  That is where the suspect dropped to the ground and was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and District Three officers were given the case.

Three people were shot during a drive-by shooting in Mount Auburn.

Investigators say around 1 a.m., a car with four people in it opened fire in the 2300 block of Reading Road.

Two people inside another car and a biker nearby all suffered minor injuries. No arrests have been made.

Over the river, Covington police are also investigating a shooting.

This happened around 11 p.m. on Alden Ave.

The victim was shot in the stomach and taken to University Hospital, but a name and condition have not been released.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents should call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
