Two charged in cat killings

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Goshen Township Police Department and the Clermont County Humane Society have filed several charges of animal cruelty after investigating complaints of cats being killed in the area.

Keegan Carney, 21, and James Combs, 23, were both charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty Tuesday.

The two were apprehended after witnesses saw the two set up cat traps near the Country Lake apartments.

An investigation revealed that Combs had shot one cat at Country Lake Apartments and shot two more near the Goshen Kroger. Carney had trapped four cats near the Mellon Ridge Nursing Home and taken them back to his home to kill them.

Police also report that Carney skinned the cats he stole and fed them to his dogs.

The two will face a Clermont County Municipal Court Judge later this month.
