ELSMERE, KY (FOX19) - Police are looking for a pair of home invasion suspects after an incident in Elsmere.

A 4-year-old girl was shot during what seems to be a robbery attempt.

When the suspects arrived at the home on Lytle Avenue, they almost immediately fired several shots, and one of them hit the girl across the back.

An emergency helicopter was called to pick up the girl.  It landed in a park near the shooting scene. The child was taken to Children's Hospital, and is expected to be OK.

The child's mother, Brandi Mullins, 20, was also shot in the hand. She was treated and released from the hospital. She told police that she didn't know who the men were.

Police dispatchers described the suspects as a pair of men, one African-American and one white, who were wearing bandanas at the time of the shooting.
