Mt. Orab man arrested after shooting at Police and Sheriff's Deputy

BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -- A local man is arrested after shooting at police and sheriffs during a domestic incident on Monday.

Around 8:00pm, the Brown County Sheriffs were called to the 15000 block of Bodman Road for a report of a domestic violence call involving a weapon. When sheriffs arrived along with Mt. Orab Police, a man shot a both officers with a 12 gauge semi auto shotgun with pellets. The Pellets hit both cruisers, but no one was injured.

The suspect was identified as 54-year-old John Pringle. Officials say that he and his wife were involved in a verbal altercation. Pringle came back into the room with a shotgun and the wife then fled to her mother's room. The victim, her mother and another man all heard gunshots and shortly, Pringle entered the room with the gun. The other male grabbed Pringle and held him down until Deputies took him into custody.

Deputies found that one round had been discharged through the living room window where evidentially from where he shot at the officers. Another round had been fired in one of the bedroom and went completely through the wall.

Pringle was taken to the Brown County Detention Center and was charged with two counts of felonious assault, two counts of vandalism, inducing panic, and domestic violence with a prior domestic violence conviction. His bond was set at $100,000 dollars.
