Eckerlin Meats - Quick Bierwurst and Sauerkraut

Eckerlin Meats  -  Quick Bierwurst and Sauerkraut
1 lb Bierwurst Sausage Links
1 lb Sauerkraut (with juice)
1 tbls Olive Oil or Butter
1 small to medium Onion sliced
2 cloves Garlic minced
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
1 tsp ground Caraway
2 - 3 cups Beer or White Wine
In a skillet on medium to medium high heat saute onions in 1 tbls olive oil or butter for 4-5 minutes. 

Add sauerkraut, garlic, salt, pepper, and caraway.  Saute this mixture with the onions another 3-4 minutes. 

Add Bierwurst sausage in skillet and begin to brown just around 2 - 3 minutes. 

Add Beer or White wine and bring to a simmer. 

Cover the skillet with a lid and let sausage cook at a low simmer approximately 20 - 25 minutes.
*If grilling this can be done in a foil pan.  The sausages can be started or finished on the grill.  Just put some grill marks on them.
Enjoy as a main course with a side of mashed potatoes.  Another option would be to serve this on a crusty roll or bread with mustard.
