LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - A former NBA player who assaulted his neighbor in Deerfield Township was sentenced on Wednesday.

Kirk Snyder will spend three years behind bars after he was convicted of breaking into his neighbor's home in March of last year, then pushing a woman and assaulting her husband.

Snyder had originally pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but he was found competent to stand trial and a jury convicted him last month of aggravated burglary, felonious assault and assault.

Snyder was a basketball star for the University of Nevada and was the first round pick of the Utah Jazz in 2004.
