Jewelry clerk robbed in Norwood

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -- Police are looking for suspects who they say robbed a jewelry clerk of thousands of dollars in merchandise.

On Wednesday afternoon,a jewelry wholesaler from Brooklyn, NY was leaving the William Effler Jewelers in Rookwood Pavilion with two cases of finished jewelry.

Police say two suspects approach the jeweler and took the cases of jewelry. The Jewelry wholesaler and suspects got into a fight in the parking lot, but when the robbers pulled out a knife, the victim gives up. The suspects then fled the scene in an older black minivan according to witnesses.

The victim noticed that one of his tires was slashed so that he would not pursue the suspects.

The two cases were worth $500,000 dollars.
