CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Miami Township police are on the hunt for burglars.

"It's that time of year again when we're starting to see and increase in vehicle break-in and thefts from garages," said Sgt. Al Fatute with Miami Township Police.

Police say when garage doors are left open, golf clubs, tools and even beer becomes a target.

"It ranges anywhere from telephones, iPods, laptops, purses anything of value, we have had a number of cases where kids are probably breaking into steal change out of a consol," said Sgt. Fatute. "On average through the winter months we may see nine or ten in a month, but in the month of April we have seen that double or triple that, we may see nine or ten in a single night."

Sgt. Fatute says Miami Township Police have arrested two juveniles who have confessed to ten car break-ins, but there are still more crimes left unsolved.

Authorities are now encouraging residents to be vigilant in locking up valuables.
