Cornhole movie premieres in Covington tonight

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A movie produced and set in and around Cincinnati will premiere Friday at the Madison Theatre in Covington.

"Cornhole the Movie" is centered on a fictional national cornhole championship set at the equally fictional "Hudy Center."  The film is a comedy done as a mock documentary, following tossers seeking big-time sports fame in the cornhole game.

The film has been worked on over the last couple of years, but most of the shooting was done in just 18 days, almost all at Tri-state locations, with hundreds of local people appearing as actors or extras, and major support from a number of local sponsors like Christian Moerlein Brewing and Pure Romance.

The first showing, with preshow activities starting around 6 p.m., will be given the Hollywood treatment with a red carpet ceremony.  There is a second showing at 9 p.m.   As of Thursday night, a handful of tickets for the early show remained, and several tickets were available for the second showing.
