Metro sending buses to Nashville to assist with flood

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Metro is sending 25 buses to assist with flood relief efforts in Nashville, Tenn.

The buses are leaving Cincinnati late Friday or early Saturday. It will not affect Metro's service; the buses are ones that Metro had taken out of service at the end of last year.

Metro is part of a voluntary mutual aid program for emergency response through the American Public Transportation Association.

"In times of crisis, transit systems provide vital support to relief efforts," said Marilyn Shazor, Metro's CEO. "Metro is responding to Nashville's pressing need for transit buses for their emergency relief efforts, as we would want other transit systems to do to help Cincinnati in a catastrophic situation like this."
