Rain causes slew of local accidents

Rain fell across the Tri-State overnight Tuesday, causing Tri-Staters to wake up to a wet and messy morning commute.

The problems all started around 5 a.m. when a jack-knifed semi truck blocked northbound Interstate 71/75 at the Cut-in-the-Hill. All three lanes were blocked for two hours.

A few hours later, another accident on the Brent Spence Bridge snarled traffic again in Northern Kentucky. This accident also involved a semi-truck and blocked the left two lanes on the northbound section of the bridge.

Several accidents were also reported on the Ohio side of the river, including an accident in a construction zone on SB I-75 near I-74.

The heaviest rain occurred around the 8 a.m. hour when a heavy line of showers moved through. More accidents were reported on the interstate and side streets after this line.

No serious injuries or fatalities have been reported from these accidents.
