HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A motorcyclist caught in an accident with a pickup truck in Hamilton was taken to the hospital Tuesday night.
The unidentified 33-year old male was hit by the pickup truck at the intersection of Rt. 4 and High St. in Hamilton. The man was thrown from the bike and onto the road. The bike was pinned underneath the pickup truck and dragged down Rt. 4 for another block.
Emergency medical vehicles arrived at the scene and the driver was taken to University Hospital by UC Air Care. No word yet on his condition. His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
The driver of the pick up truck, Jeffrey Carson, 43, fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later. He is charged with leaving the scene, driving under suspension and OVI. His blood-alcohol level tested at .171.
Preliminary investigation reveals that Carson may have failed to yield to the motorcycle. However, the crash remains under investigation.
