53 indicted after drug sweep in East Price Hill

EAST PRICE HILL, OH (FOX19) - Several suspects have been indicted after a huge drug sweep in East Price Hill.

Fifty-three suspects have been indicted in the case. Of those, 27 have been arrested.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between several agencies in Cincinnati. Police say that in the beginning of the investigation, they identified 46 subjects who were arrested a total of 199 times in 2009.

Throughout the course of the investigation, police identified 40 more people. They connected the subjects through social networking sites, arrests and field interview reports.

Police now have over 50 suspects wanted for over 180 charges. Of those charges, 142 of are felony drug charges.

Investigators say they make 146 drug buys from 54 different people during the investigation. The majority of these buys occurred at two "hot spots" - the McDonald's lot on Warsaw and the Marathon gas station a few blocks away.

Police have recovered over 264 grams of marijuana, over 62 grams of heroin and over 62 grams of crack, and also methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, morphine pills and Percocet pills.
