Friday evening the streets surrounding the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will be closed for a Roundtable Discussion. The closed streets include Rosa Parks Blvd between Ted Berry Way and Second Street, Freedom Way between Rosa Parks Blvd and Walnut Street, and Walnut Street between Freedom Way and Second Street. These streets will close at 2 p.m. and reopen at approximately 9 p.m.
During Saturday afternoon there will be a Civil Rights Game Youth Summit on Fountain Square with various inter-active displays, demonstrations, and instructions from current and former big-league players. This will require the closure of Fifth Street between Vine Street and Walnut Street in front of Fountain Square. The street will close at 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 and remain closed until approximately 9PM that same evening. Additional closures may be required in the area depending on the size of the crowd.
