Saturday Morning News Update - The week in review

   Here are some of the top stories on this week:

 MONDAY: Police investigate crash involving Duke Energy driver
   A Duke Energy driver has been arrested after he is suspected of drinking and driving while on the job. Batavia Police Chief Mike Gardner said Kenneth Mathers, 59, was arrested and charged with OVI (refusal) and driving left of center. Chief Gardner said the incident happened near 358 Foundry Avenue, off State Route 132, around 2:44 p.m on Sunday.

                 Miami Fraternity Suspended
   The fraternity, which is actually for women, was notified on April 30 that it is under a yearlong suspension resulting from inappropriate conduct and destruction of property at the chapter's spring formal in April.

 TUESDAY: Miami U suspends fraternity for wild spring formal
   Miami University of Ohio has suspended the Pi Beta Phil sorority for a year after a lodge owner complained about damage and unruly behavior at a spring formal including guests urinating in sinks, men scrambling over the bar for drinks, and couples caught having sex.

                  Former Police Chief of Indian Hill Arrested
   The former chief of the Indian Hill Rangers has been arrested for public indecency and drug charges. Larry Chadwell, 60, was chief of the Rangers from 1995 to 1999. He served with the Rangers for 25 years.

WEDNESDAY: Prosecutors begin calling witnesses in the Widmer trial
  Ryan Widmer is on trial for killing his wife, Sarah, in the bathtub of their Hamilton Township home almost two years ago. He is being tried again because his murder conviction from the first trial was set aside by a judge because of allegations of juror misconduct during the deliberations.

                   Man jumps off Hollywood Casino parking garage
   Police were called to the casino Tuesday night around 9:30 p.m. on a report of two intoxicated males trying to locate their vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the men with casino security. One of the men took off on foot and leaped off the 5th floor of the garage, landing on the ground.

 THURSDAY:  Shark found washed up on Ohio River boat ramp
    The Ohio River flood waters are receding and a shark was left behind on the boat ramp in Olmsted, Illinois.  A conservation agent says it is a shark.

                    Milford sex scandal unfolds
    A Milford city police officer has been suspended for 15 days for having an affair on the city's time with the city's mayor.

FRIDAY: 53 indicted in Price Hill drug sweep
   The investigation was a collaborative effort between several agencies in Cincinnati. Police say that in the beginning of the investigation, they identified 46 subjects who were arrested a total of 199 times in 2009.
