COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - One man was arrested after an altercation with a woman and leading police on a high speed chase.

Colerain officers were called to the area of Brownsway Lane for a report of a woman being assaulted near a dark colored vehicle. When officer Ed Cordie arrived on the scene, he saw a vehicle that fit the description leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. The driver refused to stop for Officer Cordie and lead him to a traffic pursuit down Pippin Road. The chase continued to Banning Road and Deblin Drive and ended on Golfway Drive when the driver gave up. Ronnie Norman was arrested without further incident.

An investigation revealed that Norman had forced his estranged girlfriend in the vehicle at the 2300 block of West Galbraith Road and assaulted her. The victim was able to escape the vehicle on Brownsway. Neighbors called police after hearing the victim scream for help.

Norman was charged with failure to comply, domestic violence, abduction, and driving under suspension.
