FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Two men have been arrested for burglarizing a local Subway restaurant.

Police were called to the Subway in the 7800 block of U.S. 42 in Florence Wednesday morning. When they arrived, the found the rear door to the business had been pried open and the restaurant's safe had been removed.

A traffic stop that was conducted on a suspicious vehicle in the area of the restaurant prior to the burglary led investigators to possible suspects. The suspects were later located by the Gallatin County Sheriffs Office in a rural area near Glencoe, Ky in the same vehicle that was involved in the traffic stop.

Items recovered by Gallatin County sheriff's deputies led to them charging Christopher Stafford, 25, of Milford, Ohio and Steven Anderson, 26, of Elliston with Receiving Stolen Property. Further investigation by Florence Police detectives led to warrants being obtained for both suspects for Burglary, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Criminal Mischief.

The restaurant's safe was later located on the shoulder of I75 northbound close to the Turfway Road exit.
