LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - Defense attorneys called more friends of Ryan and Sarah Widmer Friday as Ryan Widmer's retrial continues.
Widmer is accused of killing his wife, Sarah, in the bathtub of the couple's home in August 2008. He is facing a retrial after a conviction was thrown out last year for juror misconduct.
Thursday, jurors heard testimony from Sarah's friends and people who knew the couple. They testified that there were no apparent problems between Ryan and Sarah. One of Sarah's coworkers also testified that she would take frequent naps at work and often complained of migraines.
On Friday, more testimony was heard from friends of Ryan and Sarah.
There was a delay Friday morning as the defense was deciding which witnesses to call. They had been expected to call a cardiologist and neurologist to the stand, but felt the testimony they would have said was already covered during the prosecution's turn in the trial.
On Monday, coroner Dr. Werner Spitz, who has handled big cases such as Michael Jackson, is expected to take the stand.
